. United Press Association. ■• Blenheim, this day. A little boy, Fred Birch, son of a Blenheim resident, was killed yesterday by a fal} pj thirty feet from rocks at White's Bay, at a pionio party. No inquest will be held. Chbistchurch, this day. . At the inquest on the boy Hazleliurst, Mr and Mrs Green, who had charge of the boy, were entirely exonerated from blame, The boy's mother was a woman of tjie lowest type, and the doctor's report showed that -fclje boy was suffering from constitutipnal syphilis, and that the discoloration of the skin would be accounted for by the disease, and that the degenerative influence of the disease on the blood and its sudden congestion with so peculiar a disorder as sunstroke would, in a boy of deceased age (9 years) explain the phenomena, Which was a' most startling one. A veidict that deceased died from sunstroke was returned.
Auckland, this day, W..J, Parker, stoker in the employ of the New Zealand Timber Company, was found dead alongsido tho engine yesterday morning. His head and body were covered in blood, lie haying been mulitated by machinery. A man, believed tobe named Buchanan, of Qnehunga, was, killed on the railway at Newmarket Btatjqij. Hp fell between the carriage and the pjapfprm,' both his thighs and his back' being broken.
