Brown having charge of the meeting. Bro W. E. Paige VMM., was the-, .installing officer, and rendered the beautiful ceremony most impressively., There was .a ■ very large number of visiting officers and: brethren present, the St Mark's. In the evening a ball was Held to celebrate the occasion tythe joint local lodges —Thistle, S.G tI and Masterton.'E.O.—in the Theatre Royal, The invitations had been freely responded to, and the floor wasoooupied by some.sixty couples, Tho room was tastefully decorated withMasonici emblems, and a variety of flag?, decorated the walls, the pillars • being ornamented . with choice exotics, The floor had teen well prepared and,v?a4 in superb order for dancing. Thp stage was fitted up in a very tasteful manner by Mr F. D, Polling, wh<? supplied very liberally viands of the choicest kinds, Dressing rooms were fur-> nished with every regard to comfort. The* String Band supplied the inustic for the long programme, which was, not concluded until after daylight this morning., The' party on breaking. up expressed them- ' selves delighted with their evening'* amusement,
