LAND BOARD.
Evenipg Press, ' • j The ordinary fortnightly meeting of the Land Board was held on Thursday morning, and was attended by Messrs J. W. A. Marchant (Commissioner), W. A, Fitzherbevfc, H. Bunny, G. Beetham, W. W. McCardle, and T. Mason. Sections 208 and 212, Hunterville, were authorised to be transferred from Sarah Palriier to George Palmer. The Qrpjm Lands Banger wrote .in reference to the valuation'pf sectjqns 13 to 19, Block IX, Mangaone, reducing his valuation to £2 per acre. On the motion of Mr McCardlp, seconded by Mr Beetham, it was decided by a small majority that this should be the valuation, The Under-Secretary for Crown Lands wrote to enquire if certain sections in the Paratieke, Heao, and Karewarera Blocks wore'available for small runs, and it was resolved to inform the Government that th'e.Board apprpyedof the yalqatjonas made by the Surveyors, but is the minimum price!was now fixed it £1 'per acre, they had no option but to fix it at prices
ranging from £1 to 463,. as.shown in the schedule. • .Mr Beetkra moved that the attention of the Government Tie- drawn to the ne'- : (Jeskity of. Eving the Alfredton, Kopuaranga, 'Kumejaa; id-Mikimiki blocks surveyed, and to inform them that the resolutions already passed/by the Board regarding, the increasing of the survey staff referred, to theffe blocks. On the motion of Mr Beefcham, seconded by Mrßiinny, it was decided that the portion of land at Alfredton reserved for public purposes bo surveyed and reserved for. education purpose's. Regarding Mr Nitz's application for £l6O, value of improvements made by him, it was resolved that £9O be added to the cost of the land. ■ ■The Board then adjourned.
