The tone of the market is gener- ■ ally firm, and the various lots met with active demand. Melbourne, November 26.- •' New Zealand Loan Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) held their usual weekly wool sale this afternoon, when ft fairly representative catalogue of some 4600 bales were submitted.- There was the usual large attendance of buyers, and competition was animated, the market being firm at' late prices. Good merinosand crosßbreds were rather firmer. Coarse crossbreds were in better demand, the other descriptions bein? unchanged in value. Greasy merinos were sold up to one shilling, greasy crossbreds brought as much as eleven pence. Scoured wools sold up to thirteen pence farthing, and washed fleeces sixteen pence three farthings.
