The tone of the market is gener- ■ ally firm, and the various lots met with active demand. Melbourne, November 26.- •' New Zealand Loan Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) held their usual weekly wool sale this afternoon, when ft fairly representative catalogue of some 4600 bales were submitted.- There was the usual large attendance of buyers, and competition was animated, the market being firm at' late prices. Good merinosand crosßbreds were rather firmer. Coarse crossbreds were in better demand, the other descriptions bein? unchanged in value. Greasy merinos were sold up to one shilling, greasy crossbreds brought as much as eleven pence. Scoured wools sold up to thirteen pence farthing, and washed fleeces sixteen pence three farthings.

Up to the present time eighty-six Liberals and eighly-eight Conservatives have been elected, Sir Randolph Churchill has been returned for Paddington by a large majority. Sir Michael Hicks Beacli, Sir Asheton Cross and Sir William Harcourt have secured seats, while Mr Childers, Mr Shaw-Lefevre and Sir Henry Drummond Wolffe have been defeated. The Liberals'have carried the whole of Birmingham constituencies as well as the Portsmouth seat, while the Converaative candidates have been returned for Liverpool, Blackburn, St Edmunds, Exeter, Coventry, Cheltenham, Croydon, Colchester, Cambridge, Launceston, Plymouth, Stalybridge, Durham, Brighton, Pontefract, Reading, Salfoi'd, Stockport, Hackney and' Ohristchureh.
Melbourne, November 26, Messrs Goldsbrouph and Company (Limited) held their usual weekly sale yesterday afternoon, when there was a large attendance, bidding being spirited throughout. All classes of light conditioned wools were in good demand, and were principally acquired by r'epve sentatives of American firms. Good greasy wools sold up to nmepence half-
penny while superior realised- a shilling. For an extra fair parcel, consisting of fifty two bales from Tulsehill station,'near Coleraine, Victoria, thirteen pence farthing was obtained. Animated competition was also manifested for scoured wools, medium staples fetching up to fourteen
