R.M. COURT.

MASTERTON.—THIS DAY. (Before H. A. Stkatf.ord, R.M.) Frederick Petersen v John Campbell.— Claim for bushfalling 52i acres at 30s per acre,-£B2 Gs 8d less £3O paid on account; Mr I3efird for' plaintiff and Mr Skipper for defendant, Mr Beard said the dispute was regarding the measurement of the work done, He submitted a plan showing the outside measurements of bush felled, Both sides agreed upon these figures, but did not agree upon the acreage which they were stated to contain, Plaintiff was put in the box to support hia claim, He stated tlio agreoment was that surface measurement should be taken, Mr A. ,J. Rawson, authorised surveyor, deposed that he bad' not surveyed the land, but had calculated the figures on the plan given him, and made the total 56f acres. Cross-examined by Mr Skipper—ln calculating the measurement, he took tho angles as right angles. There was more information on the plan he had in his hand then, than was given him before. If he could go to his office he would, by these extra figures, prove his calculations Witness left for that purpose. (Left sitting)
