A MnoE. and influential meeting was held at the school room on Saturday last, to consider the advisableness of getting the Pahiatua Road Board District made ai separate Riding, Mr Thos, Miller in the Chair. /
It was unanimously resolved to petition jtye Wnimrapa East County Council in pcporikjjce with gjauge 28 qf tjje Counties Act 1876, Amendment Act'lßß3, to constitute the Pahiatua Road Board District ft separate Riding, ' A"cbmmittee was then formed to give effect to" the above, and carry it out with all convenient speed, so that the district might participate in the subsidy under the Local Bodies finance pil Pojirers Act, for which the county'is abqut to apply. iliis closed the sp far ag the notice calling it was concerned. Mr D. M; Yeats emWged the opportunity of a good muster, and begged the attention of the meeting for' a few momonts.' He then informed those present that Ml' Hughes liavin? promised a suitable piece of ground he (Mr Yeats) was prepared to take down the names of all those who were willing to join the Pfj|i;atua Cricket Qlub.
