CORRESPONDENCE.
(To the Editor.)
Sir.—Although too late to attempt to get an alteration made in the programme for the forthcoming Masterton Agricultural and Pastoral Society's Bhow this year, I would point out the great injustice that is done to the small holder, in the programme. In Grade Shorthorn cattle, Nos. 16,17, and 18, the Masterton Society requires pens of three (3) in each entry, whilst the Carterton. Show programme only required one to be entered, The result is that the smnll farmer is excluded from competition, as very few small holders could produce nine grado cattle of the required ages. The number has also been increased in sheep to the disadvantage of the small farmer. 1 am, &c., Farmer. [lt is a pity that the suggestion was not made at an earlier date, as the Committee would no doubt gladly meet the views of all classes of exhibitors; but it is now obviously too late to make any alteration.—Ed.
