CARTERTON.—TUESDAY.
ABUSIVE LANGUAGE. Mrs Wiley (wife of H, Wiley) accused MrsThos. Sennoxand Rebecca Vickerstaff of having used abusive language towards her, and Mrs Serinox and Rebecca Vickerstaff charged Mrs Wiley with assault, and with using abusive language.
Mr Beard appeared for Mrs Wiley and Mr Sandilands for Mrs Sennox and the girl Vickerstaff.
After the Court had been occupied for three hours, and'eight different witnesses had been heard, his Worship summed up the evidence, and e;ave the principals a lecture on false swearing, which should have the effect of deterring females from bringing cases into Court (especially such as the present) which involved the necessity of bringing a lot of girls and %s into Court to hear such filthy and disgusting language read over iib was set forth in the summonses. The evidence being of such a conflicting nature, his Worship remarked that he could not do anything but dismiss the whole of the informations without costs, which was done. This concluded the business, and the Court rose.
