THE COST OF A KISS.
George Taylor, The Grove, Hackney, was summoned to Worship-street policecourt for assaulting Ellen Prior. The complainant stated that on the 22nd ult. Taylor was engaged in painting tlie house to which she was "moving," at Queen'sroad, Dalston. She asked him to give her a little paint to colour a baby's cot, and soon after he caught hold of her aim and kissed her. She was taken so unawares that she did not know what to say, but she told Taylor that if he did it again she would tell her husband, Taylor did. not repeat the liberty, but she told her husband on his return home, and a summons was taken out. The complainant admitted that Taylor had been acquainted with her family for many years. The defendant admitted the kiss, stating he had, as a familiar friend, kissed the young woman scores of times, but with 110 improper intention, Mr Hannay imposed a fine of 20s, and 2s costs,
