There was a fair attendance at the weekly meeting of the Masterton Freethought Society last night. The President, Mr A. W. Renall, delivered an adress, and musical items were contributed by a lumber of members, the quintetto club being prominent with several instrumental selections,

Mrs Scott, lady evangelist, took part in the services at the Wesleyan Church last evening. Before the usual time of commencing had arrived all the seats were occupied, aid chairs and forms from the adjoining school were brought into requisition, and placed along both aisles and at the back of the choir, until every available place was taken up. The Rev, Mr Buttle conducted the first part of the services in which there was no departure from the usual form. Mrs Scott took the •Minister's place at the conclusion of the hymn preceding the sermon, and after offering up a short earnest prayer deliverd her text, which was taken from the Epistle to the Hebrews "How canwe escapo if we neglect so great salvation." The preacher related the circumstances that led up to her own conversion, and concluded with-an earnest appeal to those who wore "anxious about their soul's salvation," to come to the front.
