His first season on tho turf, he won the Flying Handicap at Marlborough, with Bst 41bs up, also Sporting Handicap at same meeting Bst, and after a serving season won County Cup at Kaikoura, miles, with lOst up, and won Consolation Handicap at Reeftou same season; also ran second to Orlando for Maiden Plate at Nelson, w.f.a, ; at Wairarapa Spring Meeting, 82-3, was second to Kakapo Bst lOlbs for County Handicap, and won Maiden Stakes flst 21bs, beating Makora, First Water, and six others; at Island Bay lie was second to Rewi, welter w.f.a., also at same meeting ran second to Camellia. At MastertonQpaki, won Railway Handicap Bst lOlbs, G furlongs in lmin 18scc. Orphan 9st 71bs, second, Romp, Gat Gibs, third, and was second to Kakapo Bst Mbs, for Opaki Handicap, DAN'S weight being Bst Gibs. At Eeefton Summer he was second for the Inangahua Clip, 9st, won by Satellite, 9st 41bs, won J.C, Handicap, list lOlbs, beating Field, Bst Gibs, Satellite, OstlOlbs, and another. He also won Railway Tlateat Nelson, and ran in several other races there, and lias always shown he was hard to beat, and could always cany weight and race with it.
