COMMERCIAL. STEVENS AND GORTON'S REPORT, AVo have held two stock sales since our last report, at Awahuri on Oct, G, and at Palmerston on Oct, 13, At Awahuri every cattle pen was filled, as well as nine of the sheep yards, many moro cattle coming forward than advertised, AVe also yarded six pens of sheep, The attendance was fair, and the bidding for cattle spirited, but not so for the sheep. We sold nearly all the cattle, but could not manage to quit all the sheep, At Palmerston we had good entries of both cattle and sheep. The attendance was good, and the bidding more spirited than at the last Palmerston sale, resulting in our selling most of the cattle under the hammer, Tire demand for sheep was not so great, We quoto following rates Cattle,—At Awahuri: Fat cows, £4 15a; 3-year steers, L4lßs; 18-months steers, £2 4s 6d; cows, £2los to £2 lfis; heifers, £2 5s to L2l4s; yearlings, mixed, 26s to 31s; weaners and yearling steers, 335, Sheep.—Fat sheep, 12s, Cattle.—At Palmerston: '2 to 2J-year steers, L 3 8s (id to L 3 17s (id; 2i to 3-year steers, L 5 4s; 2-year steers, L 3 3s (id; mixed 2-year, L2 10s; yearling heifers, LI 7s Cd; yearling steers, L2, Fat ewes, lis 6d; ewes and lambs, 12s.
