DANIEL O'CONNELL was bred by Mr Murphy, of Marlborough, and is by Daniel O'Rourke, from Plover, by Sir Hercules, Plover is also dam of Mnlvinn, Hercules, and other winners, see N.Z. Daniel O'Rourko won the Canterbury Derby and Cup, in 1875, and is by Slcdmcre (imported), from Brunette (importeii), who is also dam of Tadmor, the Canterbury Derby winner of 1874. ■ DANIEL is a bay horse, and is 6 years old, standing over 16 hands high, good constitution, and if good shape, size, .and performance go for anything, this son of Daniel O'Rourke should beget the class of horses required in the Wairarapa,: Ho is just the class of horse to get either cross country horses, race horses, or weight.carrying hacks, according to the class of mare put to him, His first season on the turf, he won tho Flying Handicap at Marlborough, with Bst 41bs up, also Sporting Handicap at same meeting Bat, and after a serving season won County Cup at Mourn, li miles, with 10st up, and won Consolation Ifaiulicap at Reeftou same season j also ran second to Orlando for Maiden Plate at Nelson, w.f.a, ; at Vaivarapa Spring Meeting, 82-3, was second to Kakapo Bst lOlbs for County Handicap, and won Maidon Stakes 9st 21bs, beating Makora, First Water, and six others; at Island Bay lie was second to Reivi, welter w.f.a., also at same meeting ran second to Camellia. At MastertonOpaki; won Railway Handicap Bst lOlbs, 6 furlongs in limn 18aec. Orphan 9st 71bs, second, Romp, fist Gibs, third, and was second to Kakapo Sat 91bs, for Opaki Handicap, DAN'S weight being Sst Gibs. Atßecfton Summer he was second for the Inangahua Clip, Oat, won by Satellite, 9st 41bs, won ,T.C, Handicap, 98t lOlbs, beating Field, Bst Gibs, Satellite, OstlOlbs, and another.
