LOWER VALLEY JOCKEY CLUB.

A general meeting of tho Lower Valley Jockey Club was held at the Martinborough Hotel on Saturday evening. There was a good attendance, and Mr Phillips occupied the chair, A deputation from the Featherston Jockey Club attended, and presented a proposal that tho two club should combine for the purpose of holdingmeetings at Tauherenikau. After some discussion, the following resolution was passed: '' That this club thank the deputation for their courtesy, but considers that the Tauherenikau course is too much out of the way. The members of this club would be happy to amalgamate with the members of the Featherston Club for the purpose of forming one strong club in the Lower Valley, and they would be glad if the annual meeting could be held at Martinborough."
