MASTERTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
A special meeting of the Masterton School Committee was held yesterday. Present—Messrs Boddington (chairman), Hog®, Woodroofe, Lowe?, and Payton. The minute? of tlie preyiqus meeting were read and confirmed.
Correspondence from the Board was read as follows: Appointing Miss McKenzie assistant in the school; appointing Mr Reynell as assistant master; appointing Miss Sage as pupil teacher tq Miss Keeling ; appointing Mjss J. Gyay as pupil teacher to the main school, The Chairman reported that Miss McKenzie had declined the appointment made by the Board, and read a letter from the head master, also recommending that Miss Norton be retained in the school to supply the vacancy to which Miss McKenzie was appointed. Moved by Mr Boddington, and secon4eil by ifx Hogg, TJiat tho Bflpl be asked to place Jfjss Norton pi} the per? manent staff,—Carried.
Moved by Mr Payton, and seconded by Mr Hogg, That the appointments of Miss Gray and Miss Sage be ooniirmed: —Carried. A memorandum was read from the Board offering increased rank and pay to Mr Beechy, Mr Hogg moved and Mr Woodroofe seconded, That .the Committee approve of Mr Beechy's promotion.—Carried.
A communication was read from the Board naming the 7th, 14th and 21it insta.
