He is a beautiful dapple brown, rising 3 years old, stands 16| hands high, and is a fine specimen of a Clydesdale, possessing good head and neck, with splendid barrel, and great breadth of quarters, fine broad-boned legs of good strength and plenty of feather. He has grand action, a very mildtemper,asound constitution, andisfreefrom all natural blemishes, and being descended from celebrated ancestors (see tabulated pedigree) is well qualified to be a breeder of first-class stock, LAIRD O' LARGO, out of Lochleven, Lochleven by Lothiau Lad, dam by Lord Clyde. Dauiel O'Rourke won the Canterbury Derby and Cup, .in 1875, and is by Sledmero (imported), from Brunette (importeu), who is also dam of Tadmor, the Canterbury Derby winner of 1874. DANIEL is a bay horse, and is 6 years old, standing over 16 hands high, good constitution, and if good shape, size, and performance go for anything, this sou of Daniel O'Rourke should beget the class of horses required in the Wairarapa. He is just the class of borse to get either crosß country horses, race horses, or weightcarrying hacks, according to the class of mare put to him. His first season on the turf, he won the Flying Handicap at Marlborough, with Bst 41bs up, also Sporting Handicap at same meeting Bst, and after a serving.soason won County Cup at Kaikoura, 1J miles, with lOst up, and won Consolation Handicap at Reefton same season; also ran second to Orlando for Maiden Plato at Nelson, w.f.a. ; at Wairarapa Spring Meeting, 82-3, was second to Kakapo Bst lOlbs for County Handicap, and won Maiden Stakes 9st 21bs, beating Makora, First Water, and six others; at Island Bay he was second to Rowi, welter w.f.a., also at same meeting ran second to Camellia. At MastertonOpaki, won Railway Handicap Bst lOlbs, 6 furlongs in lmin 18sec. Orphan Oat 71bs, second,

Romp, Gst 61bs, third, and was second to Kakapo Bst 91bs, for Opaki Handicap, DAN'S weight being Bst Gibs. At Reefton Summer he was second for the Inangahua Cup, 9st, won by Satellite, 9at 41bs, won J.C, Handicap, 9st lOlbs, beating Field, Bsfc Gibs, Satellite, 9stlolbs, and another, Ho also won Kailway Plate at Nelson, and ran in several other races there, and has always shown he was hard to beat, and could always carry weight and raco with it. He also gained second prize at the AVairarapa Agricultural Show in 1884, beating Premier, Voltigeur, and Crawford Priory, All fees for above payable by P.N., at first service, made payable on January Ist, 1886.
