INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION.

WOOL EXHIBITS. The following is the report of the jurors on the wool exhibits at the Exhibition:— Wool in Rales,--Scoured merinoThere is only one bale of this class, shown by Mr R. Campbell of Waitaki, and only one bale of scoured crossbred by Mr P. McOaskill of Winchester, Geraldine. Tho scouring in both classes is exceedingly well done, and deserves commendation, although the wools do not come into competition with each other,

Wool SAium-Thereappeartobe two classes of exhibits under this heading, viz (1) Wool grown by exhibitors; (2) wool not grown by exhibitors, We aro of opinion that each should be dealt with separately, and we therefore report on that basis. Samples of Fleeces Grown by Exhi-bitors.—Merino-There are three entries in this class, and competition being so insignificant, we would not recommend that any prize be given. We, however, consider the exhibit by Mr Gyrus Goulter, of Blenheim, is worthy of Bpeoial mention. Samples not grown by exhibitors,— Merino, Lincoln, Romney Marsh, and crossbreds—There are but two exhibits, and in our opinion they are not sufficient to merit a prize, We place the exhibit by Mr M, R, Miller, of Napier, as first, and it is deserving of commendation, The collection of Romney Marsh samples grown by Mr A. Mathews, of Featherston, deserves special mention, We venture to express some surprise at the paucity of exhibits in the wool class, and that from amongst all the wool growers of the Colony so few have exhibited in a class representing the main product of the country. This is doubtless owing to the unfavorable time for collecting fleece exhibits of which entries had to -be made, being between the seasons, too late for exhibits to be' collected at last season of shearing, and too soon for ensuing shearing. ;
