Wellington, thjs day. At the Education Board meeting this morning, Mr Bunny moved that children visiting the exhibition be carried on the railway free of cost.—After considerable discussion the motion was lost.

Mr Beetham moved that a deputation wait on the Minister of .Public Works, and try and secure greater facilities for enabling teachers and others to come to the Exhibition,—Carried-

A motion by the Chairman to the effect that fares of school teachers should be borne by the Board 011 all railways was also carried. This motion will not be retrospective.

The resignation of John Kay, assistant at Masterton, was accepted, and Mr Beechy was promoted, subject to the opproval of the local Committee. It was decided to advertise for an assistant for Carterton.

Christina McKenzie was appointed assistant,' and Jamesjna Gray pupil teacher, both at Masterton. The question of amended boundaries at Clarevillo was referred to Mr Booth, chairman of the Carterton committee.

£7 was granted for Kaitara for repairs and sewing table. A tender for fencing at Dalefieid was accepted. The question of the reconstruction of the school-house at Gladstone, and the erection of pump and fencing for Te White was deferred.
