MASTERTON ROAD BOARD.
The monthly, meeting of the Masterton Road Board was held on Saturday. Present-Messrs Dagg (Chairman) Moredith, Johnston and Beetham.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
The following . correspondence was received
From the Commissioner of Crown Lands, stating that he had altered the plan of the Uriti road su as to take the whole of the land required out of section 813. '
From Mr T. Hitohinga- re fencing the Uriti road.
From Mr A, McLeod, asking permission to transfer his Wangaehu contract to Mr J. Bassett,
From Mr J. Montgomery, asking permission to erect a gate on the. road leading to section 108, Manaia. From Colonial Treasurer, acknowledging the receipt of debentures. From Proporty Tax Commissioner, asking to be supplied with a list of Native Lands on which the Property Tax had already been paid. From the same, forwarding a list of properties that are not ratable.
From Mr R, M, Galloway, re a road to his section in the Kopuaranga Block. From Messrs McGregor Bros, agreeing to let an eighth of an acre of land at the ford leading to Mr Wardell's run.
From the Chief Surveyor, stilting that Mr Rawson's plan of a road leading through section 813, Whareama district, had been approved of, The following resolutions were passed: That Mr A. McLeod be requested to resume work on his contract on the Wangaehu road, and that the transfer to Mr J. Bassett be agreed to, That the Overseer be instructed to visit the East Coast, and confer with Mr Etchings re his contract for fencing the Uriti road,
That Mr Montgomery's application for leave to ereot a gate be granted, That the Overseer be instructed to arrange for the erection of a bridge on the Uriti road, at a cost not exceeding £24, 6
That the Overseer also be instructed to put the following lines of road into a state of repair Mangakuta, Upper Opaki, one leading to the Upper Waipoua bridge, Rangitumau, and Upper Fernridge, about ten chains of fresh metalling to be put on the latter. That the Overseer be likewise instructed to spend £lB in laying fascines, etc., to protect the Miki-Miki bridge, Accounts amounting to £358 18s Bd. were passed for payment,
