ALFREDTON ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary meeting was held on Tueslost,. Present—Messrs D, Macquarrie (Chairman) Kebbell, Nupier, Von Reden, and Saunders.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
Correspondence was received from Property Tax .Commissioner, enclosing demand form for rates on Native lands, also corrected roll for same.
. From same about differing in amount of Native rates,
From same stating that the difference in roll was caused by a clerical error in the original roll. From Mastorton Borough Council, statins; that the Borough reserve is now leased to Messrs J. Harding and Keester, and requesting that the change be made on roll.
From Treasury, advising a remittance of £3O Is for rates on Natiye Lands. From Commissioner of Crown Lands, re Farrell's section, stating that an error had been made in the list, and - that the section was in Block 11, Mangahao. From Mr E. Smith, stating that, the contractor had not made a start on Taneataia road. Mr Von Reden informed the Board that the contractors are uow on the site,
Mr Cross applied for a culvert for District road, near his property, and suggested that one which is not required on another section might ; be transferred.
It was then resolved that tenders be called for 12 chains formation, on the Tirauniea (District) Road, Tenders to close on 13th October. The Chairman and Mr Kebbell were authorised to receive them, .
Resolved that • LIOO be expended in metalling some sections of the Eketahuna and AJfredton road, and that the County Council be: asked for permission— the road being a main road.
Accounts to the amount of £ll 13s were passed for payment, Messrs Kebbell and Von Reden were authorised to sign cheques. The following tenders were received: for 8.42 chains of formation on the Alfredton district road, H. Schormann £24 10 (accepted); G. Fennell £2710s
For 13 chains of formation on Alfredton road, 0. Loran £37 7s 6d, (accepted). It was resolved that Mr Yon Eeden superintend and pass theMangaone Valley contract, and Mr Kebbell the Alfredton road contract.
The next meeting is to be held on the first Tuesday in November,
