Wellington, September W TttE'following is the report of tho Hospital Commission The Commissioners consider that the evidence proves that Maurice Alfred Chiton wis unfit to properly perform the duties of his office, owing to having contracted intemporate habits, and think therefore that the dismissal was fully justified. The commissioners consider the dismissal of the nurses justified by the insubordinate tone of the letter addressed by tKem to the Chairman of the Hospital Committee. The commissioners think, however,, that' owing to the lateness of the hoyr at which the order for dismissal was sent to the Hospital, the actual dismissaLt • might have been postponed until the fol* j lowingniorning. They also consider that* the notice'of dismissal given to certain officers and male servants, of the Hospital was _ necessary, for. the maintenance of discipline,. and good management. Ths: Commissioners consider that the evidence as to tho general management of the Hospital, since the appointment of Maurice A.- Chilton shows that great extravagance prevailed in the use of medical comforts, and food, and that owing to the want' of proper discipline grave irregularities have been permitted and encouraged.
