CORRESPONDANCE.

THE LATE PASTORAL SOCIETY MEETING.

[To the Editor]

Sir,—ln your report of the proceedings of the meeting at Carterton, re removing the sito of the show from Carterton to Masterton, you made appear as if I said that MessrsSeetham did not exhibit stock it all now, What I wished to imply was that Messri Beetham should not be counted upon at supporting a Masterton show, as they were averse to the project and consequently would not support it. Th# Messrs Beetham are far from being the least of exhibitors and supporters.

[To the Editor]

" Sceptic," who published a letter rsme in yesterday's Wairarapa Daily, is just the kind of man I should like to have on my investigating Committee, and if I dont read his mind—if he has any—l will pay Au reasonable forfeit. His investigates "of the claims of most mind-readers" must, I think, have been chiefly confined to thoae who have travelled in this hemisphere, otherwise he could not have been ignorant of the fact that since my first appearance there have been several people who have successfully performed the feaijimdertest conditions, both in Europe and the United States. Ido not claim anything occult in my performance, but simpty believe that I have stumbled on something perfectly explicable by natural or divine law, but as yet unformulated hj science. Hoping, therefore, that "Scejtic" will do his best to detect any charfi* tanisni. to-night, | I remain, &0., j Prop. A. E. Rice. '
