At a meeting of the Land Board, held yesterday morning, Jn the absence of Mr Marchant, Mr H, Bunny occupied tho ohair, The other members present were—Messrs W, W,McCardle,T, Mason, and G. Beetham, The schedule of lands sold since last meeting was laid on the table. It showed a total of 444 a Or 35p applied for on deferred payment, and 93a lr 36p on perpetual lease, all in the Mangaone district, at a total upset price of £616 lis lOd, of which £27 ws 3d had beeij reoeiyecl. Tiiere were jihjee applicants!, Twq applications to capitalise unpaid instalments on land in Mangahao were received, The applicants having complied with all the necessary conditions, their request was granted, • A settler holding some 84 acres on Section 5, Kaiwhata, wrote saying iie had felled and cleared some 200 acres of Crown lands, and asking that if the cleared land were sold he might receive compensation, The Board decided that they could not entertain proposition, ' : '
A settler also wrote asking leave to purchase part of the Paratiek'e Block. The land had been surveyed. The Board having no power to sell the land, it was resolved to mako further enquiries and to postpone the decision of the Board until next meeting; the land will probably be included in the next'sale. 1 The Kiwitea' Road Bqard wrote regarding the expenditure of the deferred payment thirds. A report on the Crown lands at Kumeroa, near Hawke's Bay boundary, and adjoining the Woodville-Tiraum'ea Special Settlement Block, was received. Discussion was postponed until next meetijig, Mr McCardle gaye notice tjiat hq would move at next meeting, That the land fronting the main road lying between HasttyeJJ'q clearing jn Iketaliuna, in the Forty-mile Push, be oifered in 640 acre sections on perpetual lease as pastoral lands.
