The premier 'said" tho House, in affirming the nigtion of the member for
Port Chalmers, had decided, .that the resolutions should not ba considered,
Major Atkinson thought it waa a breach of-faith on the part of the MrSxooi denied this, and said the other resalutioiis._dealt with .estimates, and could then be discussed.
Replying to Major Atkinson, . the Speaker ruled that Mr Macandrewjsamendment affected only the question under consideration.
Major Atkinson asked the Premier to postpone tho Orders of the Day,' but the latter declined, as any private meiuber might object.
Major Atkinson Baid tho Government had not fulfilled the promises made to him, and by an evasive motion sought to do away with discussioiv on 'the resolution, i'lie opposition werii, however,' quite satisfied that they had shown that the Government were afraid to meet in attack in a straightforward manner.

After further discussion in which Messrs Bryce, Pratt, Fergus, Newman, Levestain flislop, 0 Connor, Beetham, Fisher and Wi Pero took part, Major Atkinson replied saying that it was impossible to discuss questions like the East and West Coast Railway on the estimates It had been asked why the motion was not brought down earlier, not the House been trying to get the Public Works Statement- ever since the commencement of the session, and had not •he Government shirked it because they .fare determined to forco the East and West Coast Railway through whether the House wished it or not ? The motion for adjournment was lout. The amendments mado by tho Legislative Council in the State Forests Bill, River Boards Act Amendment, and Public Reserves Act were agreed to. The Municipal Corporation Bill, and Representation Act Amendment Bill were discharged from the Order Paper. The Rabbit Nuisance Continuance Bill was read a third time i\nd passed. The Mortgages Debentures Bill was reported■vith amend ments. The Land Transfer Bill was reported with amendments. The Gold Mining districts Bill was further considered in jummittee, read a third tinje and p;i33sd. The House rose at 2 25 a,in..
