Tho Houso went into Committee on tho Laud Transfer Bill, and rose at 5.30, EVENING .SITTING. After the Public Works Statement, j&jor Atkinson said there wasan imporiiit omission from the statement. There was no reference to the acquirement of land along the North Island Main Trunk Line. Mr Ballance said a vote of £70,000 was on the estimates, He considered that would be sufficient for a year. • The Premier said he had no further information re the East and West Coast The Railway Commissioners BiN was read a second time, . Major Atkinson asked the Hcuso to adjourn, The statement was a very important one, and they were asked to vote £2,000,000. It was therefore essential that tliey should have time to consider it.
