Brisbane, August 19 The Hon. G. 11. Dickson, Colonial Treasurer, has brought down his Financial: Statement. He proposes, in order to meet the deficiency for the coining year, to introduce fresh taxation to the extent of L 90,000. The duty on spirits will be increased by 2s'per gallon, and machinery, which has hitlierto been admitted free, will be subject to a 5 percent, ad valorem duty. It is also Intended to increase the duty oil imported timber, and an excise duty of 3d per gallon will be levied on, beer brewed in the Colony.
