United Press Association, Pamerston North. Tho Town Hall was totally destroyed by fire at 11,15 last night. The Public Library, Borough Council Chambers, and Roadßoardofficeinthesamebuilding,wei'e also destroyed. The Road Board safe was removed, but has not been opened; the Council safe passed through the fire, and on being opened, its contents were found uninjured. With the exception of a few papers and maps belonging to the Council, nothing was saved. Walton's drapery, and the Bank New Zealand ad joining, had a narrow escape. Fortunately the night was calm. The following are the insurances Hall, £IOOO in New Zealand; Library, £IOO in same office.
