CASTLE-POINT ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of the Board was held on | Saturday last. Present—Messrs Maunsell, Meredith, Langdon, Harvey, and Handyside. Mr Handyside was voted to the chair. Tho minutes of the previous meeting ! were read and confirmed. , The Treasurer reported balanoe in bank £103459 d, andbalance available for future expenditure £l3l The following accounts were passed for payment,, Whakaroro Ford, wages, 14s; Tinui Valley Road, £2 9s; Uriti Road, £4 4s; Messrs Payton & Co,, advertising, £4 lis lOd; Messrs Smith & Hogg, advertising, £3 9a; W, Grainger, progress payment, £3l, The Overseers report was read and considered, . Correspondence was read. From Mr Perry, requesting leave of absence from his duties as overseer of roads, for a week. From the Masterton Road Board, declining to give a subsidy of £2O towards repairs on the Blairlogie road. - From 1 Mr Chamberlain, requesting to have the crossing at the Fords repaired. From the Mines Department, re collections for exhibition. From the District Auditor, with Balance Sheet, duly passed. From County Engineer, applying for a plan of the road at Adams' Peak. From County Engineer, with plans of roads surveyed in this district by County Engineer. Ffqiii IJtr R. Donald, with account for timber. Resolved.—That Mr Perry be granted the lew of absence applied for. Tfyit tlje Aqnednle rond be opened for dray traffic, cost not tq exceed £7. That the \Vhakarpro Crossing be put in repair. TJiat the bridge oyer Bushy Range Creek be repaired, cost not to excede £lO. Thenoticoof motion standing in Mr Merodith's name was lost, two members voting for it, and three against it, The next meeting will be held on Saturday, the 22nd August.
