It is announced that the Russian Government has put forward a claim to occupy a position commanding the Zulficar Pass, alleging as a reason that the shortest road between the Russian position at Ar Robat, and- Mullahariapaka (sic) lies through that pass. The weekly returns of the Bank of England show the total reserve in notes anp bullion to be £17,800,000, an increase of 400,000 during tho weok.
