MASTERTON -THIS DAY. [Before H, A, Stratford, R.M.] . CIVIL CASES. Wairarapa East County Council v H. Zensen. Claim 2s lid for rates due. Defendant put in am appearance, and said he had received the summons, but his name should have been spelt Jensen. Mr F. G. Moore, County Clerk, proved .that the rates were owing. Defendant iu cross examination wanted to know whether his name was to be spelt with a Zor a J, and His Worship amended the summons by substituting the latter for tlie former. Defendant considered that he should not pay costs, as the notice did not reach him, owing to wrong address, and because he had seen Mr Moore and told him that lie owned the section on account of which rales were claimed, and also another.
