The market was rather weaker in tone. • To-day's Gazette contains the announcement of the appointment of Sir' Robert Hart, late Chinese Commissioner of Customs, as British Minister at Pekin, in tho place of the late Sir Henry Parkes, The members of the new Ministry were sworn in yesterday. The Right Hon. R. Bourkc has been appointed- Political Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs. It is announced that tho Very Rev. Dr Walshe, Bishop of Kildare, has been appointed Archbishop of Dublin, in suc : cession of the late Cardinal McCabe. ■ San Franscisco, June 24, An Envoy from King Kalakaua, of tho Sandwich Islands, ha? arrived here; It is believed thrtthe object of his visit is to negotiate for. the annexation of Hawaii by the United States,
