MONEY to Lend at Lowest Current rates on freehold securit •. 1962 A SIGHT WORTH SEEING! Is now making his Grand Display WISE G§§SS MY new Winter Stock amounts to _ £2,000, and knowing this immense quantity of goods to be rather a large speculation for Carterton (especially owing to the keen competition), I have marked the goods at such prices that will ensure' a ready sale. _ It is a well known fact that large quantities can be purchased at a much less rate than small. As an instanceTlivough buying three bales of Blankets (150 pairs), I obtained a concession of 20 per cent., or 4s in the £. This, ,vith the Cash Discount, enables me to sell my Blankets 25 per cent. Cheaper than any Carterton Storekeeper. This also aplies fa the idiufe of my New Winter Stock.

I have not made the mistake (which I notice many have) of opening ray goods too early in the season, consequently I have no " fly blown" Blankets, nor faded Gooda of any kind, Having now ovciy facility-Magnificent New Stock, Large Store, No Rent, and Small Expenses,—l mean to do the Business of Caktekton. WINTER DISPLAY before ordering elsewhere. II GARDENER, 'CRITERION; STORE, CARTERTON. 1795 [ADVERTISEMENT.] FIELDER'S FURNITURE FACTORY. THE rapidly increasing business of Mr Henry Fielder, of "Little Dustpan" fame, during the fifteen months he has been in trade in Manners-street, has warranted him making very considerable additions to his establishment. He has just completed an extension, with a frontage of 40 feet to the street, and a depth of 60 feet, one half of which he has devoted to the purposes of a show-room for his large assortment of glass and china, and the remainder ho has sub-let to Mr Mulligan, draper. Mr Fielder is fast making a name for himself as a manufacturer of first-class furniture, and some specimens ho has turned out of the cabinetmaker's and upholsterer's art are highly creditable to his skill and taste. All his. goods being raado on the promises under his direct supervision, ho is enabled to warrant their quality and manufacture, and from the largo assortment he has on view, purchasers of all tastes can be readily suited. But tho furniture-making is by no means the only branch of his large business; he aims at being a "universal provider," and in his large warerooms may bo found every requisite for furnishing a house of any, size from a cottage toa mansion. We do not know whether Mr Fielderemulatestho universal provider-Mr Whitelcy-to the extent of providing wives for his customers, but everything else for the furnishing or adornment of a house can be supplied by him at a moment's notice. Amongst his specialities are some remarkably choice ' 'lines" of importmid dinner and tea services, Of these, all qualities are in stock, from a plain earthenware dinner set at 50s to a magnificent hand-painted Staffordshire service at thirty guineas. Tea services can be bought for about 18s. and run up to ten guineas •at which price he has some really exquisite specimens of high art in China painting. Clocks and mirrors, pictures 'and ornaments, beds and carpets, trunks and footstools, kitchen utensils and toilet sets, electro-platedware and tin teapots—the young couple must be hard to please who cannot find what they want at tho little Dustpan. As a sample of what he caii do in the manufacturing line, Mr Fielder has produced some very handsome ebonized and gold overmantels and mirror frames, which in beauty of design and finish are in the highest degree creditable,, and suited to adorn the most elegantly furnished room. The repairing of broken furniture is also a feature of his establishment,' and many articles which their owners had thought of burning as firewood, now look as good as new after a course of. his surgical treatment. Althrough his establishment is well worthy of a visit, not only from those desirous of •furnishing, but from all who take any interest in the fostering of local 'industry. Mr Fielder also wants it known that lie has np connection with any othor establishment in the city. . '"'"OT WILLIAM T. PEAGOGK, BUILDEUND IiOBTRACTOR.'■ MASTERTON. ESTIMATES GIVEN. 1982
