WAIRARAPA POULTRY SOCIETY.

A well-attended meeting was held at the Council Chambers last evening to form a Poultry Society for the Wairarapa, Mr Payton being voted to the chair. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Park, "That a Society, to be called the Wairarapa Poultry Society, be formed." The following names were then given in of members:—Messrs J, Payton, T. James, R, M. Galloway, 0. Perry, J. Dixon, T, Dixon, W. McKenzie, D. S. Papworth, fi. M. Park, A. Elkins, M. Wilton, P. P. Harrison, R. Jacques, J, D. Oakly, R. Bright, F. G. Moore, and T. Parsons,

. It was resolved that the subscription of members be 10s per annum,' due on July Ist in each year, On the motion of Mr T, Dixon it was decided that the officers of the society consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and a committee of management, seven in number.

The following appointments were then made:—President Mr Hugh H. Beetham; Vice President, Mr T. Parsons; Secretary Mr W. McKenzie; Treasurer Mr J. Payton; Committee, Messrs T. James, A. Elkins. T. Dixon, D. S. Papworth, J. D. Oakly, R, Bright and W. G. King. It was resolved that the Committee meet on Wednesday next, and that a general meeting of members to fix date of show and adopt rules be held a week later. Also that the Secretary should ask the members of the Committee residing at Carterton, Greytown and Featherstpn to obtain members, A vote of thanks to Mr R. Brown fqr the use of the meeting room terminated the proceeding,
