Melbourne, June 3. A most daring robbery was committed this morning, about 10 o'clock, at the Simpsons-road branch of the National Bank of Australasia, which had closed yesterday afternoon with no money on the premises. On the arrival of Mr Humphries, the manager of the branch, accompanied by Mr Bradshaw, his clerk, from the chief establishment, bearing £IOOO, they were both attacked by three masked men,, two of whom presented revolvers, whilst the third brandished a crowbar. Messrs Humphries an(J Bradshaw were overawed by the suddeness of the attack and the threatening manner of the robbors. Both officials were knocked down, and their hands were securely strapped behind their hacks. The manager's revolver was then taken from his person, and the robbers decamped with the £I,OOO, leaving their victims lying helpless on the ground. Messrs Hnmpries and Bradshaw were subsequently released frqm thejr bonds by a passer-by, and information of the robbery was immediately given to the police, The numbers of the notes stolen are not known,

Later, The total amount takon by the robbers from the Simpson's-road Bank officials is £1155, of whioh £955 was In notes, £IOO in gold, and the balanoe in silver, No clue has as yet been discovered as to the identity of the robbers. The numbers of the notes cannot be ascertained.

Received 4th June, at 1 p.m. Further particulars published to-day regarding tho bank robbery, show that theaffalrwasskilfully planned and carried into execution by the robbers, who effected an entrance into the building through a back window, and waited for the arrival of the manager and assistant inside the bank. They attacked them so suddenly that resistance was impossible. The victims were gagged, bound hand and foot, and lying under a table when eventually discovered. The total proceeds of the robbery amounts to £1175,
