Neuter's Telegrams, Sydney, May 18. A telegram to hand from Louth, a town on the Darling river, announces that the police have arrested a man named Ross at that place suspeoted of being concerned in the jobbery at the Horsham (Victoria) branch of the London Chartered Bank of Australia last year, when nearly £6OOO in notes and gold were abstracted from the bank safe between noon on Saturday, March 1, and Monday morning, March 3, Ross had a credit balance at the bank of £390 when arrested.

Mauritius advices are to hand to April 30th. Under that date Mwd Ireland, Fraser and Co. report of the sugar market as follows.:—Crop accounts are favourable, owing to the fine weather. The market is firm and dearer. The month's clearances of sugar include GOO tons for Christchurch and 300 tons for Dunedin, while the engagements include 300 tons for Dunedin and 200 tons for Wellington. The stock of sugar in hand is 28,000 tons. The exports to New Zealand this season amount to 8000 tons.
