A telegram to hand from Louth, a town on the Darling river, announces that the police have arrested a man named Ross at that place suspeoted of being concerned in the jobbery at the Horsham (Victoria) branch of the London Chartered Bank of Australia last year, when nearly £6OOO in notes and gold were abstracted from the bank safe between noon on Saturday, March 1, and Monday morning, March 3, Ross had a credit balance at the bank of £390 when arrested.

The stock of sugar in hand is 28,000 tons. The exports to New Zealand this season amount to 8000 tons.
