Matthews, that at the rising of the meeting, the Council adjourn till the second Saturday in August, and in the meantime, if the Chairman thinks it necessary, he may call a meeting, and that the Works Committee act in the Barae manner as at present, The Chairman spoke strongly against the adjournment, in reply to which Cr H. Bunny stated that it was no use to hoodwink the matter, but he requested that the public should know the financial difficulties of the Council, The motion was carried. Some accounts were passed for payment,
