''Tjnui" is another name which ia constantly spe]fc feimi" t)ms making it meaningless, Tlnui, of course, means tho bit; cabbage treo—Tenui, tho big—which reduces tho name, if mis-spelt, to nonsense.

[Our correspondent issearcely correct. Tho first name mentioned is not often misspelt, Many Maoris spell it "Mangahao." As to the second, the Post Office authorities are responsible for the alteration, Phey, like the Railway Department, have been guilty of com' mitting many absurdities of this kind. —Ed.W.D.]
