FEATERSTON TOWN BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Featherston Town Board was held on Monday last. Present—Messrs Reynolds (Chairman), Donald, and Hodder. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Treasurer's statement showed a balance of £44 IBs 9d. The following a* counts were passed for paymentßeel £2l9s 2d; Licensing Committee £6loa, Clerk and Inspector £1 19s lid. The Ranger's report and fees amounting to IBs was received. The Poundkoeper'B report for the month wan not received. The Dog ltcgiatrar reported 25 dogs registered during the month, and fees collected £2lss. The rate collector repor. ted the total rates collected to be £142 7s 2d, and arrears £2014s 6d, Mr Hodder's notice of motion re having lights to vehicles was allowed to lapse, • Resolved, that the Clerk write to the Poundkeoper, asking him to keep the gate leading to the pound open, so as to enable parties to securo cattle until tho pound gates are opened, Resolved, that tenders be called for making and painting a pound board with first and second sohedule painted thereon, tenders to be sent in by Monday tho 13th inat., information to be had from the Clerk.

Resolved, that the Board will, at a special meeting to be held on Monday, April 20tli, strike a general rate of one halfpenny in the pound on all the rateable properties, as appearing on the valuation roll, for the town district of Featherston, such rate to be for the period of one year, ending 31st March, 1886, and payable in one instalment at the Town Board office on the first day of May, 1885, They will also strike a library rate of one penny in the pound at the same time and place.
