A QUEER STORY.
At Paris two brothers named Laroche, belonging to a good family at Hayti, have been charged before the Seine Tribunal with having attempted at Paris to procure foi-ged foreign paper'money. The evidence showed thiit last September the applied to a Paris firm to have 120,000 pretended cjgar-l)qx labels printed according tq saimi'le, On tips sample being produced it proved to be a bank-note - issued mider the guarantee of the Republic of Hayti and having legal currency in that country, The Laroches handed to the printer one of the negessary plates, and two other plates were to be obtained from London,' Information was given by the printer to the police, and the, trial was the result, For the defence it was shown that General Sala--111011, President of the Ilayti Republic, had usual against the will of the Chamber, a quantity of paper money, with the object of obtaining a largo loan. The prisoners declared that they had simply acted according to the orders of the Liberal Committee of Hayti. who were aiming at the overthrow of Genoral Salamon. The forged notes were to be signed by the delegates of the revolution as soon as it had triumphed. M. Gerville Reacho, the colored deputy for Martinique, appeared for the prisoners, and made a remarkable speech in their behalf, After a few minutes deliberation, the jury acquitted the prisoners.
