When awakened, he at once made for the staircase, but when half way down he was driven back by the flames and smoke, and waking up his oldest sun, Harry, about 16, told him to try and save his brothers. He then got out of on? of the front windown and clambered along the parapet .and let himself down.bythe lamp over the door. Ho then got a ladder used for lightingthe lamp and put it to Mrs Camp's window with great trouble, getting her and her newborn baby out of the window, also four little children. Meantime Henry Gamp got hold of one of his brothers, Willie, and carried him to escape by the staircase, which runs up the back of the house. There he met a man tvho took the child from him. Harry then faced the fire, and tried to go back and save lib brothers, Edward, aged 4, and Albert, aged 11. The flames anil PQke beat him back, and sweeping over him forced him to jump through the flames by a window at the back. He was very severely burnt aboijt the head and ohest, and one of his arms broken, He now_ lies at Mr Armstrong's house in a precarious condition, attended byDrCashney. The two boys, Edward and Albert both perished in the flames. Willie Camp was alsoseverely burned, but is in no danger. It is supposed the fire was caused through ashes blowing under the hotel from the ashpit. Mr Camp has lost every penny, the insurance being in favor of a building Society.
