Masterton v Greytown. The match between the above clubs was played in Steward's paddock, Greytown, on Saturday, ar\cl, sq far as it went, resulted in a ty\n for Qreytown by 11 runs. The fielding of the visitors was very poor, though the ground may have had something to do with it. An adjournment was then made for lunch and tho rain which had boon threatening all tho moraine; began to come down in earnest. . Notwithstanding the pouring rain, the Masterton team wont to the wickets (although it was the wish of tho home team to discontinue play). From this time to drawing stumps the gatno proved the greatest farce imaginable. Wjth tho aid of a little sawdust the. bowlers managed tp keep a fair command of the leather, but it was almost impossible keep hold of the bat, and about a dozen times it slipped out of tho hands of the batsmen, making somo of the field movo very spry to get out of the way of the flying willow, The visitors only got 04, or 11 behind their opponents. Sleeman was ill a long time, playing very patiently for his uns, while Perry and Harrison made things very lively while they wore at tholwlqkets. Ruthorfurd did great oxfisut on with the leather, 'taking soven wickets for 20 runs. Messrs W, F. Ford Ford and 6. Hollard umpired for the teams. The following are tho scores
