A TERRIBLE TRAGEDY.

A terrible tragedy, arising out of jealousy, occurred at Summorville, S.C., on Christmas Eve, when Mrs Francos David, a prominent church woman, killed Mrs Lizzie Way, a young wife, and tho acknowledged bello of the town, with a pair of scissors. Mrs David's husband, tho wealtheiet man of that region, had aroused his wife's jealousy in regard to Mrs Way. Tho lattor's Imsband is a Baltimore drummer. David and Mrs Way were at one time engaged, but the engagement was broken off, and each married for spito. it tho festival Mrs David upbraided Mrs Way for breaking up two homes. Mrs Way replied, and both were very abusive. Suddenly, Mrs David raised a long, Bharp pair of scissors she had used in cutting evergreens, and plunged them into the bosom of Mrs Way. Tho latter fell to the floor with the scissors in the wound, in a dying condition. After striking tho fatal blow Mrs David went into hysterics and bogged her friends to kill her.. She would have thrown herself from the window had she not been prevented, Mrs Way died within five minutes after she was struck. The murderess was arrested shortly afterwards and taken to the county gaol. Bail in any amount was offered, but tho trial justice said that ho could not tako it. Mr David repeated again and again that his wife had no cause for jealousy, but declared his intention of standing by her in her trouble,
