GREYTOWN BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The usual monthly meeting of the above was held in the Council Chambers on Monday night last. Present—His Worship the Mayor, and Crs Kimberley, Loasby, Maxton, St. George, Cameron, Beard, and Gallagher. ' Mr Trotter signed the usual declaration and took his seat.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

Correspondence—Outwards; From the letter book. Inwards: From Commis- ■ sioner of Property Tax enclosing valuation roll of Crown Lands in Borough. The clerk was instructed to obtain a copy of the statutes for 1884. Persuant to notico Mr Maxton moved that the Inspector of Nuisances receive three months' notice that his services be: dispensed with. Tho motion was put and carried by Bix to four.

It was proposed by Gr Loasby and seconded by Or Maxton, that a letter be sent to the Constable asking him to see that the by-laws are carried out and that a copy of the by-laws be sent to him, Cr Cameron moved and Cr Kimberley seconded, that the settlers in Papawai be informed that the Council is willing to subsidise pound for pound any money raised by them for bridge purposes, provided the bridges are built in accordance with tho wishes of the Council.

Or Cameron moved, and Or St, George seconded, that tenders be invited for the purohase of the immigration Carried.

Or Loasby proposed, and Cr Cameron scoonded, that the Overseer be instructed to prepare plans, specifications, and estimates for forming and metalling Kempton's and Cross roads.—Carried, The Council then adjourned,
