CASTLEPOINT ROAD BOARD.
A JiEEnso-of tho Board was held on Saturday last at Tinui. Prosent-Messrs Mackay (chairman), Langdon, Belllss, and Meredith, -■■
Thomimitos of tho previous'meeting were read and confirmed. The, Treasurer reported a balance in bank of £458 2a 5d and balance available for future expenditure £468. Accounts amounting to £SB 19a2d,.paid by'tho finance committoo on 10th inst, were duly confirmed. -•■•■■■=. •>

The following correspondence was read; From County Clerk with copy of'resolution requesting the several road boards to .take cliargo of the main roadd within their respective districts; from Public Works Office re Uriti Road; from Mr Sutherland agreeing to certain deviations in the road at Manawa and applying to have a gate ; from chairman Upper Taueru Road Board applying for payment of amount agreed upon by the two Boards; from same, acknowledging receipt of £SO and requesting this Board to prepare an agreement; from Colonial Secretary'soffice re gazetting j of member for No 1 subdivision ;'from Mr Stillborn re'drain on his property being blocked; from County Clerk with cheques and vouchers for payment of wa»es to men employed on main lijie'j- from "same, requesting to be supplied with a statement showing the total amount: of rateable property in the district. RESOLVED. That a sum of £3 be expended on the Uriti road near Mungapakeha. That a sum of £lO be expended in repairs on the Tinui Valley road. That a sum of £lO be expended in ropairs on Pakowai road.
That a sum of £2O be expended in improving tho Whakaroro road, and that all ratepayers who are interested be requested to supplement this grant by labor or money.
That Mrs Owon's application be not entertained. This was lost for want of a seconder. ~..-■
That a grant of £l4 be made to lower the road in front of the Tinui Hotel provided Mrs Owen contribute an equal amount. ■
_ That a sum of £7O be granted to assist in widening and metalling the Flint-cut-ting on the main road, and thai tenders be called for the work. . ■ ■•-- •' • ' That hi the opinion of this Bo«rfifc»,
not desirable to take over the County liabilities as shown in the report of tho Finance Committee of tho Council; but tho Board is willing, to take over the' 1 , maintenance of tho main roads in 'this - Riding on the understanding that the ... That tho owners of gates on Uriti ioad ■ be- desired-to keep the gates in good /' order, also'those on the Black Hill ■ That a- sum of £l2 be granted to supplement the previous grant for the Blairlogie road. The next meeting was fixed for the 7th 'February; '"■■ x : •" :
