The return match between the above Clubs was played on the Masterton Park Oval on Saturday,last and, after an excellent game, resulted in a victory for Masterton by twenty-three runs, Great interest appeared to be taken in the game, and, during tj}« afternoon there were nearly two hundred visitors on tho ground, including 8 good number of the fair, sex, . The Park.Oval has been greatly improved recently and it promises to become a favorite resort for pleasure seekers. The stalwart knights of the willow were waited upon by the fair ladies of the bazaar, and all appeared to "thoroughly enjoy themselves. After justice had been done to the good things provided, the teams got back to the Oval and the Greytown njon wont, in fully determined to wipe out the score of their opponents, ;Nation and Maguire were the only batsmen to make anything like a stand, ;ibe former making 11 and the latter 10 toot Qut, The innings dosed for 5?, or '23 behind that of the home team, For the latter Perston trundled well, getting four wickets for eleven runs. The Masterton men then went in for their Recond-innings, and were disposed of two or three minutes before the time for drawing stumps for a total of 79. Moore was the principal contributor witb 19 to his. credit, Harrison and Sleeman again getting into double figures with 13 and 12 respectively. Harrison made a fine hit right out of the ground, and the two last men (Isitt aud Kibblewhite) made things very lively until the former was caught. The game thus ended, after one of the most pleasant contests evar played between tho clubs, in a win for Mas« terton by 23 runsion the first' innings. At the conclusion of the match hearty
