For the convenience of deferred-pay-ment selectors resident in the Wairarapa District, a Government officer will be in attendance at the Institute, Masterton, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday, the 16th December, to receive applications, SCHEDULE. _ Terms of payment: Willi the applications for deferred payment sections, onetwentieth of the upset price muat be paid in cash, or by bank draft, or marked cheque; the balance of the purchase money in half yearly instalments extond ini? over ten years. Branch roads bavo been formed through the seotions at Dreyer's Rock,' Central ,Mangaone, Hawera, and Pabiatua, at distances respectively from Masterton of about fourteen miles, thirty-one miles, thirtyfive miles, and forty miles, Tho Manealiao sections are within fourteen miles of the town of Woodville. The Main Trunk Railway from Wellington to Napier is now being constructed to a point about seventeen miles north of Masterton. Sites for railway stations have been seleoted at several points. The whole of the sections are covered with forest, the principal trees being tawa, rirnu, hinau, rata, kahihatea. with totara, in places | the undergrowth is, as a rule, heavy ; the general character of the soil ta good, and in some places is of first-class quality, the formation being limestone, clay marl, Band stone, &c, The country is generally hilly and undulating, but there are largo flats as well as broken ground within the area; it is well-watered, and, as the climate is also very favorable, the land should, when cleared and- brought into cultivation, prove well adapted for pastoral snd, to some extent, agricultural purposes. The Kaiwhata Sections 1 to 6 consist of high hilly land, of fair and inferior quality, covered with light bush, mixed scrub, and manuka, with occasional Braa'll open patches, Section 1; Block IV., consists of good hilly land, partly cleared and grassed, the balance being covered by bush, The meanß ofacoess are by a partlyformed bridle track from Gladstone, and from the coast by the Kaiwhata Valley, Maps, schedules, and application forms oan be obtained at the Land Office, WeihngtOß, and maps and schedules at the Post Offices, Foatheraton, Greytown, Masterton, Woodville.
