Any lessee who has fulfilled all con* ditions of improvements within six years can acquire the freehold of his lease on payment of the price fixed at the lime the lease was granted, provided the payment is made within eleven years of the come mencement of the lease.
Note.—Limits of area for each-lcaseo: No lease shall be made to any person owning, nor shall any person be capable of becoming the lessee under» lease, or a sublessee, who owns any freehold land, or land held under lease or license under the Crown whereby such person shall become either the owner, tenant or occupier in the whole, either by himself or jointly with any other person or person, including the lands comprised in the lease, of a greater area than 6<lo acres ouyvhero in the colony. The sections comprised in the Schedule are situated at Pnhiatun, in Ihe Mangaone Block, in tho Kopuaranga District, about Dreyers' Rock, near Dreyer* town, and front upon or aro adjacent to the main road connecting Masterton and Woodvillo. Branch roada have beon formed through the sections at Dreyer's Koclc, Central Mangaone, Hawea, and Pabiatua, at distances respectively from Masterton of about fourteen mileß, thirtyone miles, thirty-five miles and forty miles, The Mangahao sections are within fourteen miles of the Town of Woodvillo. _ The Main Trunk Railway from Wellington, to Napier i 9 now being constructed to a point about seventeen miles north of Masterton, Sites for railway stations havo been selected at several points. The whole of the sections are covered with forest, the principal trees being tawn, rimu,. hinau, rata, kahiltatea, with totara in places;' the undergrowth is, as a rule, heavy.; the general character of the soil is good, and iri soma places is of first-class ■ quality,: the formation being limestone, olay, marl, sandstone, &c. The country is KnneiMlly hilly and undulating, but there are large flals as well as broken grounds within the area ; it is well watered, and, ns the climate is also favorable the land should, when cleared and brought into cultivation, provo well adapted for pastoral, and to some extent, agricultural purposes.
