CORRESPONDENCE.
(To the Editor) Sir—ln your issue of Friday «omeone signing himself" Fair Play" makes some very unfair and, in my opinion, foul assertions against one of the judges of the late show and Borne of the committee of the Horticultural Society, who, he aßßertß, condones this judge's action by allowing him to award a first prize to hit own plant, And, be further remarks, . can there be any wonder that a Society f that encourages auoh praotioea; has lose / public confidence." "Well, sir, who this ' " Fair Play" ia I know not and care little, but I must, on behalf of the committee, give his foul assertions ah emphatio denial. As steward to the judges and stager in pot plants at the late show, I know nothing whatever of, the assertions and believe them to be untrue,! The attack made by this "nomdeplume"against tins judge and the oommittee is cowardly in the extreme, and is more likely to defeat'the objeot he has in view—which appears to be the damaging of the Society-thai): any other mode of procedure be could hive adoobd, lam,&c, ™ Job Vile; ' One of the Committee.
