Wiokenswon the toss and elected to take the field, the Opaki men running the scoreup to- 54, before they were 'disposed!of, Frank Day making top score with 12 by hard hitting, McLachlan also getting into, double figures. Wickens arid-f. Minifie did the trundling for the "visitors, the former getting eight wickets. The Tradesmen followed, but only succeeded in putting together 35,-the bowling of Welch and McLachlan proving very good. An adjournment was made for lunch which was plentifully supplied by the Opaki Club. After lunch the Opaki Club again went to the wickets, but they were not so successful as in their first innings, the bowling of Jackson being hard to negotiate. They increased their total by 47, and the Tradesmen went in with 66 to win, The underhand bowling of R. Welch considerably interfered with their scoring and they only made 36 runs, leaving the Opaki victors with' 30 runs. Three cheers, .were given :6n each side, in which the visitors—of whom'there were about fifty—joined. The following are the scores.:— Opaki, Ist innings. " C.
