WAIRARAPA CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.

The adjourned annual meeting of the Wairarapa Caledonian Society was held at the Club Hotel on Saturday evening last, Mr W. Lowes (the President) being in the chair.

Tho minutes of the preceding meeting having been confirmed, the election of officers was proceeded with, The Chairman proposed Mr Heron as President for the ensuing year, but Mr Heron declined to stand and Mr W. Lowes was unanimously re-elected to the office. Mr Heron was then elected Vice-President.

Messrs T, Brown, A. W. Cave, R. Cameron, J, Drummond, A. Elkins, R, J. Fitton, P, Gray, A. W. Hogg, J, lorns, J. Livingstone, Jas, Macara, J, Pay ton, W. Perry, W. Rapp, A, Stewart, W. B. Buick, J. Muir, A. Burnett, D. McKanzie, and John Cameron were elected as a Committee of Directors,

The following appointments were then made:—Auditors: Messrs lorns and Fitton; Judges: Messrs T. Brown, F. Gray, J, Livingstone, W. Perry, D, Buick, and W. Harvey; Starters; Messrs Fitton, Elkins, and Muir. On the motion of the President Mr Sellar was, amid applause, re-elected Secretary and Treasurer, and highly complimented upon the manner in which he had discharged the duties of these offices in the past. A question of whether entries for handicaps should not be made prior to the meeting was discussed at some length, but it was decided not to make any change in former arrangements. Two new members, Messrs Reese and Ross were elected, and Messrs Lowes, Heron, Reese, and Brown were appointed a Programme Committee. Messrs Fitton, Rapp, and Heron were elected as a Ground Committee.

The Ground Committee reported favorably re the proposed fence round the oval and the action of the previous meet ng in voting £5 towards the cost of the same was confirmed,
